Kailyn Olnes is an environmental geologist who started mushing in 2010 to pursue her childhood dream of running the Iditarod. With the help of Justin, she was able to make it to the finish line in 2022 in 35th place while borrowing dogs from Iditarod musher Wade Marrs plus a few dogs from ReRun Kennel. She is currently a co-president of the Alaska Skijor and Pulk Association (ASPA), a board member of the Second Chance League, and a member of Mush With Pride.

Justin Olnes is an Alaska marine mammals biologist with the Alaska Dept of Fish and Game. He started running dogs in 2013 with his PhD advisor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and was hooked. He  adopted a few dogs of his own to get more involved in the sport before meeting Kailyn and starting ReRun Kennel. Justin is also a member of ASPA, Second Chance League, and Mush With Pride.

Justin and Kailyn both have a passion for dog mushing and shelter animals. ReRun Kennel was started in 2022 to provide a home for rescue sled dogs in need and provide them with a means to do what they love best - run!

ReRun Kennel is located high on a ridge just north of Fairbanks, Alaska. The neighborhood consists of "21st Century Homesteaders": Houses are off-grid, contain no plumbing, and utilize wood or propane for heat. The kennel relies on solar power, a generator, and a battery bank to provide power. There is an outhouse instead of a traditional bathroom, and water is hauled from town in 5-gallon jugs.

ReRun Kennel includes trail access, a large free-run pen, a sled dog 'retirement community' and a cabin full of dog beds.
